Happy New Year to all! 2016 is here, and it's audition season! Book a lesson or a coaching now to get your book in shape, clean off a few of those holiday cobwebs and check back in with your instrument! Get yourself back in your best shape before it's time to prepare for callbacks!
2015 wrapped up on a wonderful note, as The National Yiddish Theatre's Di Goldene Kale received rave reviews from many sources, including the New York Times, which named it a critics' pick! The run was nearly sold out, and among our esteemed audience members was Senator Joseph Lieberman, Sheldon Harnick, Baayork Lee and Dr. Ruth! Check out the pictures!
Jessica Crouch was also crowned NYMF's Next Broadway Sensation 2015! Crystal Kellogg was runner up, and check out her (and I!) singing "She Goes" from High Fidelity at the ASCAP Concert which culminates the event! I also posted a video of finalist Ross Brown singing "Along The Way" by Pasek & Paul (catch me making a backup vocals cameo at the end!) Check out all the semi-finalists' performances here!
I also music directed round two of developmental concerts for Lyra: A Dark Fairytale [music: Evan Jay Newman (Mamma Mia! and American Idiot National Tours), & Ashley Griffin (creator of Forever Deadward)] at 54 Below this past December starring Ryan Williams (National Tours of Joseph... & Les Miserables.)
2016 is starting off with a bang! Congratulations are due to my client Drew Moerlein, who will be making his BROADWAY DEBUT in AMERICAN PYSCHO as PAUL OWEN, alongside TONY WINNER Alice Ripley, TONY NOMINEE Jennifer Damiano, Benjamin Walker & Heléne Yorke. Performances begin MARCH 24!
This spring I will be serving as Music Director for two Composer Projects with CAP21 (one in partnership with Molloy College.) I'm excited to be examining the works of Cole Porter and Frank Loesser with the next generation of talent! I will be partnered first with Branden Huldeen [Director of New Play Development (Barrington), New Works Director, Festival Producing Director (NAMT)], and then with Marshall Pailet (Who's Your Baghdaddy; or How I Started The Iraq War, Triassic Parq, Claudio Quest.)
